Music is a living entity. It has declared it's independence from birth. It is diverse, educational, open minded, and pleasing to all sorts of thinking....It has been acknowledged and utilized by unique musicians that gave a life for it to grow from moment to moment, allowing it to be shaped and formed into different styles.
My Golden Rule is to always look for ways to better myself as a person in this lifetime. As a musician, this philosophy of thinking allows me to always push and provide myself with new challenges to keep my achievements up to the highest standard. My goal in career achievements is similar to that of an airplane engine. During the operation of flight, there is no tolerance of failure.
My musical journey started at age 9 and turned into full-time career goal at age 10. I was taught in a creatively suppressed environment, with a generations old confined teaching philosophy; formulated into regulated repertoire for a specific genre of music. Since, I have been exposed to, and involved with, a wide range of styles and philosophies. I delight in all genres of music and strive for my students to be individuals in reaching their full potential.
As a teacher, it is a must to find mutual ground with a student to ease the communication level for higher and sufficient progress. Great expectation for high achievement requires great confidence level. Respect and confidence in me, brings out respect and confidence in the student.
Lesson Example
Metronome practice: It is important to develop metric inner pulse that does not fluctuate. This not only allows the player to keep up with certain tempo markings in order to subdivide the rhythmic variety of music, but it also gives a better sense of understanding that time is variable and does not change with self desire.
- games with a metronome: alternatively playing a measure of music with a one pulse beat break ( I play.....you play.....I play.....you play, etc.)
- bow practice with a metronome:
